About our Astrologer - Damian Rocks  (M.A. Cultural Astronomy and Astrology, Dip FAA Astro, Dip F.A.)

Damian Rocks is a professional astrologer with many years experience. From early studies in healing and parapsychology, Damian has explored many aspects of metaphysics and progressed to become a leader in his field. He is a professional astrologer, writer and lecturer spending much of his time between Sydney and Melbourne. He is also passionate about complimentary medicines and currently practices both ayurveda and yoga

Damian is one of only a handful of people to be awarded a Masters of Arts degree from Bath Spa University, England, specializing in the study of Cultural Astronomy and Astrology. He holds an FAA Diploma of Astrology and was awarded the Federation of Australian Astrologers Gold Medal for Excellence in 2012. He is also a trained gemologist and artist with a Diploma in Fine Arts. Currently he is completing an Advanced Diploma of Ayurveda at AIHM, Perth. Consequently, his approach is unique, educated and informed.

Damian manages the astrology programme at The Awareness Institute Sydney, leading students from beginner to practitioner level. He also runs regular workshops and seminars, as well as an online study group. He has worked with some of the world's foremost astrological experts, and brings a wealth of realistic experience to his practice.

About our Illustrator - Maki Yamaguchi

Maki Yamaguchi, was born and raised in Japan. She comes from a long line of artists, and has always had a passion for art and design. At the age of 19, Maki moved to California to learn English, before being accepted into Cooper Union, NYC, where she completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts.  Maki is now pursuing her career as an independent artist, is happily married and lives with her husband and big black cat in Queens, NY.

Maki is a Gemini, with Taurus Rising and Libra Moon. With Venus ruling both her Moon and Ascendant, she has the astrological pedigree of a fine artist and designer. What is more, she was born with Venus rising, and in Taurus, its own sign. This amplifies her natural sense of style, symmetry, balance and proportion. As you can see, Maki’s work is meticulous, graceful and fun. We are proud to have her as part of our Stars Like You galaxy.
