Moon in Libra
Your Moon sign describes your emotional and instinctual energies. Another key component in the makeup of the basic ego/personality, your Moon sign reveals those things you do instinctively, how you are likely to react emotionally, how you give and receive nurturing, as well as the genetic or cellular memories carried within the unconscious mind. It describes your emotional, instinctual, genetic and intuitive makeup.
With the Moon in the peace-loving and balanced sign of Libra you are likely to have innate diplomatic and negotiating talents. You are likely to have instinctive abilities in terms of personal interaction that may make you popular and gracious in every situation. This is the position for the natural negotiator, as well as counselor, promoter, advice giver or sales person. You are likely to be well-equipped in objectively assessing all sides of a situation, and communicating to others in ways that are balanced, harmonious and fair. You have an instinctual desire to bring out the best in others, and may become involved in many situations where inequity seems to be an issue, for you are motivated to see that the principles of justice and fairness are upheld. This sign is concerned with communication, and with the attunement of something that has at least two sides. Libra is also the sign of relationship, and so, you are likely to be instinctively drawn to these areas of life, and may feel emotionally ill at ease when not involved in a significant relationship, or when you fear that your communications are not being well received. Often, those with the Moon here have natural design and creative talents, owing to Venus’ influence, ruling all form of symmetry, balance, proportion and the manifestation of beauty.
Libra is ruled by Venus, and so, you have natural talents as far as people-skills are concerned. You are likely to be charming, intelligent, witty, gracious and a natural diplomat or peace-maker. The downfall here is that you may also have a tendency to put your need to please and appease other people over your willingness to have your own needs met, resulting in an instinctual response pattern where you always bend your will to other people, being to afraid to reveal what it is that you truly want. This can lead to all sorts of passive aggressive behaviours, as you attempt to co-opt others, and work your will (for Libra is a cardinal sign, involved in creating outcomes) without being honest about what your real agenda actually is. Your fear of being disliked or confrontational may be so strong that you fail to assert who you really are, and what you need. This can lead to the double jeopardy of never getting your true needs met, and leaving the other people that you have been attempting to “passively manage” with the feeling that you have something to hide, that the situation has been somehow manipulated, yet no-one knows why. Yet dig a little deeper, and the unconscious source of manipulation (shock, horror) may actually be you- too afraid to be open about your own needs for fear of being disliked, yet so skilled in the art of people management that you get the result you were really after, without the joy in the end! This can lead to all sorts of emotional upsets in close relationships, and you are encouraged to be very open with yourself and others. Usually, the bottom line is that you are trying to be fair to the interests of all parties concerned, including your self, and you may find it difficult to decide what the best course of action may be. Finding the principle that is correct and fair, and then committing to taking action to see that principle is upheld will help you to make your mind up, and become more objective about the overall picture, including the pieces that involve you! At its best, Libra is an objective, sociably oriented Air sign, and you have natural abilities in finding and upholding the principle of justice in all concerns. To do this, you just have to be equally clear about what your agenda is, and where you are coming from, so you can clearly see the best result for all concerned.
