Moon in Pisces
Your Moon sign describes your emotional and instinctual energies. Another key component in the makeup of the basic ego/personality, your Moon sign reveals those things you do instinctively, how you are likely to react emotionally, how you give and receive nurturing, as well as the genetic or cellular memories carried within the unconscious mind. It describes your emotional, instinctual, genetic and intuitive makeup.
When the Moon is found in the sensitive, imaginative, romantic and idealistic sign of Pisces, the strength of the emotions are likely to be especially pronounced. Pisces is the final sign of the zodiac, and has much to do with issues of sensitivity- to oneself, to other people, and to the mysterious, unseen forces that shape and make up our world. On an instinctive level, you are likely to be highly attuned to these areas of life experience, and the quality of your life will have much to do with how ready and open you are to treating yourself with the care, sensitivity and awareness that you need. People with the Moon in Pisces are likely to have strong and instantaneous emotional responses. You can be deeply moved by an ideal, a piece of music or another’s suffering.
Your imagination is likely to be very strong, and allows you to find all manner of nuance and resonance in a variety of experiences. This can be a great advantage if you turn your talents to anything creative. This sign is highly creative and anything to do with music, photogrpahy, fashion or film may be especially appealing to you. Opportunity awaits if you can find an outlet for your fine imagination.
Love may be an area of life where you go through lessons of harsh reality, learning to view others for who they are, and not who you would like them to be. This is a very romantic sign, and you are likely to enter relationships and new experiences with rose-coloured glasses. Yet you also have the capacity for a rare kind of loving, based on the unconditional acceptance of the other for who they are.
You are likely to be highly intuitive, and may have strong psychic abilities if other factors in the chart are also present. This is also a sign of spiritual seeking, and you may have a deep devotion to your relationship with the divine. As mentioned, Pisces is a sign of great sensitivity, often to forces and energies that in this present day, we know very little about. Pisces is a sign of great mystery, and we may not yet be at a stage of human evolution where we can understand all that it has to offer. Yet unless you learn to work with your nature, to withdraw periodically from the demands of life, and take time to replenish your highly sensitive emotional system, you may find yourself unable to cope easily with the demands of life.
Most often, women with the Moon in Pisces have an easier time, for women are allowed to explore and develop their sensitive sides. For men, this placement can be more difficult, as many men are taught from an early age to fear and repress their emotional and imaginative natures, leading to innate patterns of fear and self-denial in later life as the attempt is made to shut-down and disassociate from what would otherwise be a very rich and vivid emotional/fantasy life. As this aspect is culturally not allowed recognition, many men with the Moon in Pisces may fear their innate sensitivity and anything of an ‘otherwordly’ nature, as this would mean opening up to parts of themselves that have for a long time been locked away.
This sign very often carries a strong spiritual and devotional drive, so that you may be deeply attuned to your spiritual nature, and find great solace in your relationship with the divine. The sign of Pisces carries within it an innate urge to escape, or to leave the mundane aspects of life far behind, and to swim in the cosmic waters of collective consciousness. Often this is done by developing a private relationship with Spirit. Whether you do this consciously or unconsciously will be entirely up to you.
A conscious manifestation of this desire to escape would be seen as taking the time to be alone, retreating from the world for inner contemplation, for meditation, purification and self-rejuvenation. Spending time by the water, or in nature would be especially soothing, as you allow the emotional and psychological components of your being to release the store of what has been absorbed from all around you, and process those experiences that are necessary for your growth. As Pisces is a sign of great compassion, you may also experience self-renewal through acts of service and kindness to others, consciously offering your compassionate nature in selfless acts of service to others. The trick here will be in learning not to take on more than your fair share. Your faith may be a cornerstone of your life experience, and provide you with a meaningful sense of the divine in all things.
An unconscious manifestation of this escapism would be more literal, and is usually characterized by a person who seeks to escape from the demands of this world through drugs and alcohol, through escaping into fantasy, through becoming dependent on some kind of government or welfare system, through losing themselves in service to others where roles of victim and saviour are exchanged and maintained, or through becoming sick, vulnerable and needy as an expression of not being able to cope in the world. Whatever the manifestation here, the primary urge is almost always about seeking purification, restoration and release on an emotional level. Becoming conscious of these motives and needs assists greatly in understanding the complexities of such a finely tuned and sensitive emotional nature. Recognizing that the need to escape embodies a desire to merge oneself back with the source of “all that is” helps to set up constructive paths through which this return to consciousness can occur.
