Total Lunar Eclipse 2022

Lunar Eclipse November 8/9th

If you have planets/points around 16 degrees Taurus / Scorpio / Leo / Aquarius then this eclipse will be especially significant for you.

The Taurus/Scorpio Full Moon Lunar eclipse happens this week when the Full Moon in Taurus lines up to oppose the Sun in Scorpio.

Because the shadow of The Earth will be visible across the face of the Full Moon it’s also a Blood Full Moon Eclipse, and the last total lunar eclipse for around 3 years!

Sounds ominous, doesn’t it?  But don’t fret….. These sensational terms are used to get your attention but DO NOT mean the end is nigh. It’s just click-bait, designed to try and grab your precious attention!

After all, eclipses happen twice every year, and blood moon eclipses happen whenever there is a total lunar eclipse – a fairly common event.

Now that we’ve got that sorted, you may may find yourself wondering next “What is going on?”

The Lunar Eclipse Is A Regular Thing

Well, we have a total lunar eclipse (visible in some parts of the world) that is part of a natural, annual cycle of events when the Sun and Moon align close to the Lunar Nodes. A total lunar eclipse doesn’t happen every year, so in that sense it’s more rare.

For a bit more context (beyond the limited view of just one eclipse event) you might want to check out this article from 2020 when we discussed the 2020 Gemini/Sagittarius Full Moon to understand how eclipses operate in terms of bigger long-term cycles.

What you might really want to pay attention to now however is the fact that the Full Moon will conjoin Uranus in Taurus, whilst making a square aspect to Saturn. This throws a lunar spotlight on all the global chaos and tension that has characterised the past 12-18 months.

What this tells us is that we need to stay grounded, be mindful of our stress levels and most of all avoid rash, erratic decisions. The whole planet is feeling the pangs of collective change. Please don’t rush in where angels fear to tread.

It’s also a time to let go of whatever is holding us back and be decisive in terms of shared security, whilst being mindful that there is no need to add to the struggles of others. Perhaps you need to address a situation where someone owes you something?

The challenge is to do so with humour and good grace. Issues that surfaced around two weeks ago can be dealt with now, but need eloquence and tact. The Full Moon in Taurus is a symbol of generosity and ease. Try to find the spirit of benevolence within your own heart before you question others around theirs.

On a more uplifting note, the other important thing to be aware of is that JUPITER IS BACK AGAIN IN PISCES.

This once-in-every-12-year boon is a real upswing in terms of inspiration and potential. Every 12 years Jupiter passes through its own signs (Sagittarius or Pisces) sowing seeds for global growth on both spiritual, emotional and material levels. It’s time to be happy, radiant and expansive in the face of constant flux.

What does this mean? We like to think of it as true wisdom that comes from taking the effort to properly understand. We have been talking about the importance of up-skilling over the past two years. Jupiter helps you learn what you need to move forward in your life.

The Opportunity For More

In this Taurus/Scorpio eclipse season, there is a chance to bring greater insight to the fore. But there’s also a risk of getting stuck in your ways, especially if you are refusing to acknowledge the need to change.

Stop getting your news from Facebook, and actually read 🙂 Choose platforms featuring professionally trained journalists, scientists and educators – not bigots with an axe to grind, or influencers who want you to suspend disbelief.

The great chance we have with Jupiter in Pisces is to access the higher forms of knowledge that come from pure knowing – intuition built upon solid foundations of logic, reason and common sense.

Also, avoid scratching “The Misinformation Itch”. Don’t get sucked into any negativity vortices through ranting and raving at others online. Remember we all learn in our own way and in our own time. Offer useful information when the moment requires without a dose of preaching on the side.

Eclipses tend to trigger a sense of destiny. This can bring  major life shifts, and some of us will be heading into un-chartered territory very soon.

Sometimes we just need to be in the moment, trust ourselves and remember we are never “really” in control.

Think of New Moon Eclipses as being like new beginnings. What do you want to kickstart this week? Check your chart for planets/points at 16 degrees of Fixed signs to see where the focus lies for you. If you want a professional opinion then schedule a personal consultation.

With a focus on the signs of Taurus and Scorpio sometimes we need to face where our vulnerabilities truly lie. If you find yourself processing grief or loss then remember you have that right. By facing our flaws and traumas we add greater meaning to our joys.

Part One of our 2023 overview looked at the influence of Pluto in Aquarius and the transit of Jupiter through a new cycle of the Zodiac. We also explored ways to manage your mental and physical wellbeing through tuning into the monthly rhythms of the lunar cycle.

A New Jupiter Cycle Kicks Off – One of the bigger generational patterns to shift gear in 2023 is the journey of Jupiter through Aries and then Taurus. Because Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac, when Jupiter transits here (once every 12 years) we can think of it as the step up to the next level in an evolving cycle.

Good or Bad Aspects in Astrology?

Good or Bad Aspects in Astrology?

One question I’m always asked as a professional astrologer is if a certain aspect in a chart is “good” or “bad”? Whilst understandably disconcerting, the idea that there are good or bad patterns in a birth chart is a hang-up from the murky old days of astrology when life was understood in more absolute terms, and demons lurked behind many doors.
