Sun in The Eighth House
The Eighth Solar House:
The arena of power and transformation.
With the Sun in the Eighth House you may find yourself driven to understand the depths of your own nature so that you come to terms with the power you hold within.
You are likely to be sensitive and astute at picking up on hidden matters. Career choices may involve dealing with other people’s resources – material, emotional or psychological. You may also be fascinated by mysteries, psychology and magic.
You are challenged to overcome sensitivity, secrecy and unconscious limitations. By facing the truth about yourself and others you teach transformation and the capacity to redefine challenging situations.
The Eighth House of the chart is a place of mystery, depth and intensity. Like its similar sign – Scorpio – this house relates to hidden things. It governs those aspects of life not easily revealed. It also pertains to power and transformation – and so how physical, mental or emotional resources are used. At a personal level, it relates to the unconscious and emotional bonds which bind one person to another. It reveals inner depths and motivations – those aspects of ourselves we tend to keep hidden. The Eighth House also relates to the experience of intimacy and the resources that keep us in relationship, creating the emotional resonances upon which committment is made.
With the Sun in the Eighth House, your sense of self will be inextricably linked to the expression of power. Your journey involves learning to come to terms with what it means to be powerful – to have power, or have it wielded against you. Whilst this may sound abstract, it has very practical application.
At a material level, it relates to the management of other people’s resources. You may have a strong interest in taking on a role that gives you the power to manage what others own. This house is connected to finance, stocks, trades and investments so that personal development comes from seeing the impact of your advice.
Or you may be interested in psychological resources, with a developed capacity to uncover others motives and drives. You could be fascinated by the workings of psyche, helping to create emotional transformation and lasting change. Self acceptance then comes from seeing others in their true light.
The Sun in the Eighth house
You are gifted with the capacity to trigger transformation. To do this, you must accept the responsibility of wielding power.
At a physical level, you may work to help yourself and others generate material wealth. Transformation occurs through moving from one state to the next.
At an emotional level, you can bring transformation to the lives of those close to you by engaging in truthfulness, intimacy and trust. You teach transformation by helping others identify then remove any obstacles which are holding them back.
Along the way, you must grapple with the temptation to use your insights for personal gain. Like a lump of coal that one day becomes a diamond, you are here to embody truth, and become a living example of the light that can emerge from real strength and insight.
Your life journey involves experiencing transformation so that you can teach others to do the same.
