The Meaning of Your Aquarius Moon

The meaning of Aquarius Moon

Discover the meaning of your Moon Sign. Learn how understanding your Aquarius Moon will help you know what you need.

Born under the Aquarius Moon you have a need for objectivity and fairness. Your strength is in your ability to detach from emotional situations and look at them from a logical point of view. Your challenge is in understanding how your emotional responses work.

Aquarius is a conceptual and humanitarian sign. You are likely to be in some ways unique and may have grown up under unusual circumstances.

You need to assert your independence and express your individuality. You may be progressive in your viewpoint and able to understand others from a detached point of view.

There may be something about you that “separates” you from others. Your early childhood and family story should give important clues here. Perhaps you grew up feeling very different from those around you, or perhaps your mother had a freedom loving steak somehow. You need to understand how this sense of separation has shaped you. You are somehow here to dance to the beat of your own drum, and express your unique personality.

Aquarius is an Air sign. This means it relates to ideas, concepts and communication. Air signs are focussed on the social aspects of life. You need to be guided by the protocols that govern how we interact with each other.

Aquarius is also a Fixed sign. This will give you an innate ability to focus, persevere and endure. You need a degree of certainty in your life and expect the same from others in return. You have probably always had fairly clear ideas about what you don and dont want, who you do and don’t like. Once you have made your mind up you are unlikely to change.

You need to define your individuality from an early age. Your position as someone ‘on the outside’ gives you the ability to interpret the world around you from a unique point of view. This does not mean you are necessarily an outsider – you just bring a different perspective to whatever you are involved with.

You may have grown up in a family where individuality was encouraged, or alternately a family in which feelings were not expressed. There is likely to be something about your childhood that sets you apart. You need to turn your unique perspective to your own advantage.

With Aquarius Moon, you may feel like an outsider or lone wolf.  This position often generates an instinctive sense of somehow “being different” or “on the outside”, and this can amplify any tendency you may have learnt to withdraw from emotional experiences. You need understanding and inclusion.

You may be so aware of your unique qualities that you tend to keep yourself separate from others, unconsciously believing that you are likely to be rejected by them, so best to get in and reject their support first. You may feel uncomfortable about getting so you make yourself “special” because of how “different” you are.

Be careful you don’t project this sense of uniqueness onto others, feeling disdain for what you see as their “ordinariness” . This can be a self-sabotaging strategy that leaves you stranded “exclusively” on the perimeter of true emotional contact.

On the deepest unconscious level, it is your fear of closeness and/or rejection that keeps you feeling disconnected from others. You need to find the group of like-minded others with whom you can belong.

The two big advantages I had at birth were to have been born wise and to have been born in poverty.- Sophia Loren, Moon in Aquarius

Because the emotional qualities governed by the Moon are influenced by an Air sign, you can be at times cold and detached. You are inclined toward objectivity in your emotional responses. You need mental space from your instinctive reactions to decide how you feel

Aquarius is perhaps the least “emotional” sign of the Zodiac. With an Aquarius Moon you are likely to be more comfortable with projects, outcomes, words and ideas, than you are with the sentimental, or passionate, dimensions of life.

You will probably feel more at ease with facts and concepts. You might struggle to fully understand others who are predominantly driven by passion or instinct. This does not mean that you are not emotional. Far from it. It just implies you will prefer the “safety” of objectivity and reason when it comes to traversing emotional terrain.

You might try to navigate your “from a distance”. You are happy to offer cool, clear and objective analysis to those around you. It feels more natural to you than getting deeply involved. You may need to stretch yourself more to recognize the impact for others of their emotions.

Unless there are other balancing features in your chart, emotional exchanges may not be your forte. You probably feel most useful when able to offer guidance through logical support. You need to understand you approach feelings very differently to others

Your strength is your ability to rise above subjective response and its inherent limitation to see “the whole story” for what it is. You may be respected amongst your many friends for your social skills and objectivity, able to logically analyze a problem without emotional bias.

However at a more intimate level this can be problematic. You may struggle relating to partners who are governed more by how they feel. The depths of emotional experience may not ‘make sense’ to you. You might even feel disdain when you notice others making dramatic emotional displays. You need to understand that emotion is an essential part of being human. Then you can let others be themselves without needing to disconnect.

This is a sign of friends and networks, and you may find that most of your emotional needs are met through being “connected” to a group. You may pour your energies into friendships and social endeavours. You have a natural talent for appreciating collective dynamics.

However, this can be at the expense of those relationships with persons closest to you. You may unquestioningly devote more energy to community interests or ideals, than you do to personal concerns. You need to remember not everyone has the same capacity for detachment as you do

On the up-side, this means you are likely to have pronounced skills within groups, and are able to relate to people from all walks of life. You can respond to each individual on their own terms without getting too bogged down in differences.

You are likely to focus on what is similar in others, rather than what keeps them apart, and so have a gift for finding common ground. Because of this tendency you may be a natural networker and find that you develop friendships with people from many different walks of life.

Egalitarian by nature, you usually believe in the same rights for all. In addition, Aquarius is a highly civilized sign, and so you are likely to have well-developed interpersonal skills, plus interests that can be very broad and may even venture toward the avant-garde.

Aquarius Moon is a great position for people working in humanitarian and emergency situations, for it helps you to focus on the needs of the group and the moment, rather than being personally affected by what is going on around you.

Your capacity to be objective means you can focus on solutions and not their emotional toll. Others will find you refreshing to be around because your ability to remain calm can be especially useful.

Imagine there’s no heaven, It’s easy if you try, No hell below us, Above us only sky. Imagine all the people, Living for today,

Imagine there’s no countries, It isn’t hard to do, Nothing to kill or die for, And no religion, too. Imagine all the people, Living life in peace  – John Lennon, Moon in Aquarius

Aquarius Moon can also suggest a degree of eccentricity. You are probably highly original in some way. If you have creative interests then this placement can give a very unorthodox way of seeing the world.

Aquarius is also associated with radical change. You may find that you have a need to rebel or break away from situations you perceive as static. Your need for freedom can manifest in many ways, and you are likely to be at your best in relationship with others who understand the need to give you space.

At its best, Aquarius is an egalitarian and freedom-loving sign. Your sense of objectivity is your best asset, and your ability to connect with others is based mostly on your capacity to simply see others for who they are.

You thrive in situations that bring people and conversation together. Though at times you may feel the outsider, life will flow best for you when you find your tribe of like-minded others.

Deeply original, you will have a flair for independent analysis and thinking outside the box. You can be a great friend and supportive colleague through your ability to see the human condition in all its myriad forms.

Reality manifests itself as constant and objective – independent of us, but as changeable in space and time. Consequently, its reflection in us contains both properties. Mixed up in our mind, these properties are confused and we do not have a proper image of reality. – Piet Mondrian. Moon in Aquarius
