What’s Your Sun or Star Sign? (the center of your personality)
Rather than describing who you are, your Sun Sign points to what you are learning to develop and become. Think of it as the center of your personality, revealing your key motivations and drives. As you express the qualities of your Sun Sign, you experience greater fulfilment and self-confidence. To maximize your potential, you need to find ways to express the qualities of your Sun Sign (as well as its house see below).
Your Sun Sign reveals what motivates and drives you. It describes the centre of your personality around which all of your experiences will unfold.
Do You Know Which House Your Sun or Moon is in?
It is also important to consider the house in which the Sun and Moon were found at the time you were born. THIS IS ESSENTIAL IN TERMS OF WHERE YOU WILL PUT YOUR FOCUS AND WHY.
The time of your birth greatly influences how your Sun Sign qualities are expressed, and will make a huge difference in terms of what motivates you and why.
This page tells you all you need to do about your Sun’s (solar) house. This goes a long way to explaining why two people born on the same day or under the same sign can be so different.

What’s Your Moon Sign? (the basis of your personality)
Your Moon Sign is just as important as your Sun Sign and reveals a lot about your emotional responses and needs.
Your Moon sign will describe what you do instinctively, your emotions and how you are likely to react, as well as what you need to feel comfortable. Importantly, your Moon Sign is often MOST NOTICEABLE WHEN YOU ARE YOUNGER. You develop into your solar qualities as you get older
It’s really important to know that whilst your Sun Sign describes qualities you are learning to develop and grow into, your Moon Sign shows where you have come from and who you already are.
What’s Your Rising Sign? (the way your personality is perceived)
Put simply, Your Ascendant or Rising Sign is the part of the Zodiac that was coming up over the eastern horizon at the moment that you are born. All day everyday as we travel around the Sun, our position relative to the backdrop of The Zodiac changes. Your exact time and location when you were born will show how this pattern influences you.
Your Ascendant (or Rising Sign) reveals the ways in which you present yourself to others, and how you immediately respond to the world.
You can think of your Ascendant as symbolizing the qualities you project when you meet a new person or situation. You might also think of your Rising Sign as the face you show to the world.
Together with your Sun and Moon sign, your Rising Sign makes up the pillar of your personality. Together, they provide an amazing tool to help understand your astrological personality profile.

What The Ascendant Actually Is (Astrology 101)
The Ascendant or Rising Sign is the degree of the Zodiac that was rising above the eastern horizon at the moment that you are born.
It is especially significant, and can be found on the left-hand edge of your chart, most often marked by the symbol AC. To know precisely what your rising sign and degree is, you will need to know the exact time and place of your birth. If you only have a rough idea, then look at the signs either side of the time you think it is and then work out which one sounds like the best fit for you.
The Ascendant is so important, because it gives the plot structure or context through which the story of your life will unfold.
Your Ascendant or Rising Sign describes how you project yourself out into the world, how other people see you, how you enter into new experiences, and the kinds of experiences you need in order for life to feel meaningful.
Different Ways Of Thinking About Your Ascendant
Think of your Ascendant as like the character you project when you arrive at a party.
Do you turn up feeling bold, confident and happy to be centre of attention? Then you might have a Fire sign rising. Or do you tend to head “straight to the kitchen” – so to speak – to find someone to connect with or how you can help? Then you might have a Water sign on your Ascendant.
Fire signs on the Ascendant tend to appear confident, extroverted and motivated. Water signs appear emotional and need to connect. Air signs appear inquisitive and love to ask questions, whereas Earth signs take it step by step, wanting to make sure they feel comfortable first.
